Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Minh Mays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Saccarosio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Minh Mays!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Saccarosio!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saccarosio misses with a double jab
and Mays counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Saccarosio throws a combination that misses
letting Mays counter with a right hand.
Alex Saccarosio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saccarosio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mays paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Saccarosio shoots in and gets a takedown into Mays's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Saccarosio stopping the sweep attempt from Mays.

Saccarosio won't allow Mays to sweep him here.

Saccarosio is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mays is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Mays really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mays seems to be looking for submissions.

Mays is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Saccarosio sees it coming and defends easily.
Saccarosio makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Saccarosio.
Saccarosio has a closed guard, preventing Mays from standing up.
Mays missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Mays has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mays has gone for a leg lock! Saccarosio slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mays's guard.

Saccarosio has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mays is proving hard to escape from.
Saccarosio sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mays's guard.

Saccarosio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mays defends it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Saccarosio is controlling the pace.

Saccarosio is nestled in close to Mays, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Saccarosio tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mays controls his leg.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Saccarosio lands a nice short elbow.
Mays trying to control from the bottom.
Mays is looking for a sweep. Saccarosio is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mays is trying to control but can't.
Saccarosio is looking to take a break and control but Mays is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mays wants to improve his position but Saccarosio is controlling well.
Saccarosio blocks the strikes from Mays.
Saccarosio looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Saccarosio prevents Mays from improving his position.
Mays is working hard here to advance position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Saccarosio is working for a kimura but Mays is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mays wants to get back to full guard.
Saccarosio wants to take a breather but Mays is having none of it.

Saccarosio stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Mays shoots in but no luck this time.
Mays is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Saccarosio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Saccarosio dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Saccarosio wants to clinch up but Mays keeps it at a distance.

Saccarosio works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Oh Mays is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Saccarosio slips a nice elbow through Mays's hands, connecting with Mays's forehead.
Saccarosio is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Mays is hurt! He's hurt bad - Saccarosio fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Mays from any more punishment! Congratulations to Saccarosio! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex Saccarosio!
