Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Oston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ariel Piechocki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piechocki has chosen Thunder as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Oston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ariel Piechocki!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oston throws a right and a left that both miss.
Piechocki lands a head kick!
Piechocki lands a nice looking body kick.
Piechocki's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Piechocki duly obliges.
Horrible takedown attempt by Oston or perhaps it was just good defense by Piechocki, which made it look bad.
Oston throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Piechocki counters with a head kick.
Piechocki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Oston.
Oston dodges the punch combination from Piechocki.
Oston misses with a series of wild punches.
Piechocki lands with a hook. Oston tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Oston tries to clinch
and Piechocki counters with a right hand to the body.
Oston tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Piechocki defends well and Oston ends up having to push Piechocki into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Oston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Oston is trying to drag Piechocki to the mat but Piechocki just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.

Piechocki drags the fight down to the ground.
Oston throwing strikes but missing.
Piechocki is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Piechocki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Oston wants to control but Piechocki is keeping busy.
Piechocki is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Piechocki wants to pass to mount but Oston is defending the position.
It looks like Piechocki is going to stand back up.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Oston blocking the ground and pound attempt from Piechocki.

Piechocki is working for an americana but Oston has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Piechocki was thinking about the submission.

Piechocki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Oston tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Piechocki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Piechocki decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Oston, up you get!
Oston tries to clinch up
and Piechocki makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Piechocki ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Oston tries to bum rush Piechocki with a series of wild strikes but Piechocki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Oston throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Oston tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Piechocki counters by clinching up.

Piechocki breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ariel Piechocki dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Oston misses with a takedown attempt - Piechocki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Oston shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Piechocki counters with a head kick. That will keep Oston thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Piechocki fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Oston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oston swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Piechocki.
Oston tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Piechocki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ariel Piechocki seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Oston shoots in but no luck this time.

Piechocki throws a nice outside leg kick.
Oston looks for a takedown but Piechocki sprawls well.

Oston is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Piechocki.
Piechocki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Piechocki leaves Oston with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Piechocki throws a right hand that Oston ducks under and follows up with a left that Oston also avoids with ease.
Oston misses with a wild body shot.
Oston shoots in but no luck this time.
Piechocki lands with a kick to the ribs.
Oston tries to clinch
and Piechocki counters with a nice leg kick.
Piechocki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Oston fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Piechocki manages to avoid it.
Oston shoots in for a takedown but Piechocki shows good takedown defense.

and Piechocki counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Piechocki counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Piechocki circles away from the clinch attempt
and Piechocki counters with a nice uppercut.

Oston doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Oston tries for a takedown but Piechocki sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Oston takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ricardo Oston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Piechocki lands a nice looking kick to the body. Oston takes a step back to recover.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oston dodges the punch combination from Piechocki.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Piechocki - that will leave a mark!

and Piechocki counters by moving into the clinch.

Piechocki manages to break the clinch.
Oston fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Ariel Piechocki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Piechocki stalks Oston and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Oston's face. Oston staggers backwards, shaken.
Oston lands a glancing blow to the side of Piechocki's head.
Oston shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Piechocki defends it nicely.
Piechocki's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Piechocki duly obliges.
Oston doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Piechocki counters with a two punch combo.
Danga de danga de dang - Piechocki scores with a four punch combination!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Piechocki comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Oston tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Piechocki counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piechocki lands strikes from half guard.
Oston makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Oston.
Piechocki is looking to work some ground and pound but Oston has wrist control.
Piechocki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Piechocki gets to his feet. Oston looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oston doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Piechocki counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Oston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oston ducks right into an uppercut from Piechocki.
Oston takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Piechocki connects with a right hand. Oston shakes it off.
Oston throws a body kick that misses

and Piechocki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Piechocki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Oston throws a leg kick
and Piechocki counters with a body kick that stops Oston in his tracks momentarily.
Oston darts in looking for a takedown but Piechocki gets double underhooks and turns Oston into the ropes.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Piechocki.

Piechocki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Oston shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Piechocki's guard.

Ariel Piechocki is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Let's hope that Piechocki has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Oston thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Piechocki has his hands on Oston's head, controlling the position.
Oston won't allow Piechocki to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Oston takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Oston closes the distance but Piechocki moves to the side
and Piechocki counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Oston is lucky that one didn't land flush.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ariel Piechocki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Piechocki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
