Bangs kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sparks. Lester Bangs could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to RC RS's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lester Bangs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, RC RS!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bangs cracks the inside of RS's front leg.
RS blocks a head kick by Bangs.
We've been told by Bangs's head coaches at Sun Ra and his Arkestra's training camp that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Bangs lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like RC RS has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Bangs dives in and scores a takedown into RS's guard.
Bangs controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bangs postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
RS is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bangs lands a couple of elbows.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bangs passes RS's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bangs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bangs winds up and cracks RS with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bangs works his foot free and advances to mount.
Bangs takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bangs has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bangs fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bangs postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have RS in real trouble here! The ref calls for RS to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lester Bangs!
Lester Bangs seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
