Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Spishak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spishak is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sleeping with Sirens. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammy Spishak!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spishak as he avoids it easily.
A big left from Spishak misses.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
No joy there for Spishak, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Spishak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Spishak throws a poor cross that misses
and Smith counters with a nice low kick that buckles Spishak's knee momentarily.
Spishak swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith is looking to clinch but Spishak is avoiding it.

Spishak misses with a body shot.
Spishak walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


It looks like Sammy Spishak has been cut.

Spishak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Spishak drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Smith dives on top into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Chuck Smith will probably get the nod.

Spishak has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Spishak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Spishak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Spishak is cranking Smith's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Smith! He's tightened the choke and Smith is tapping out!
