Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Errol Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Tomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Errol Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Tomas!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomas throws a body punch but Mason moves out of range.

Tomas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mason to the mat! Mason manages to get full guard.
Tomas sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Tomas wants to pass the guard but Mason is keeping the position.
Tomas stopping the sweep attempt from Mason.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tomas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Mason looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tomas is one step ahead there.

Mason is adopting a defensive guard.
Mason might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Tomas clinches up against the cage.

Tomas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tomas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Tomas is pulling down on Mason's head to control his posture.
Tomas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mason won't allow Tomas to get back to his feet.

Tomas closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mason to the mat! Mason manages to get full guard.
Tomas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tomas wanted to stand there but Mason had control of the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tomas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Tomas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jay Tomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tomas rushes Mason and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mason wants the takedown. Tomas is fighting it off but Mason persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tomas's guard against the cage.

Tomas looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Tomas is looking for a triangle here but Mason uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Mason is looking to take a break and control but Tomas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tomas can't do much from the bottom here.

A chopping leg kick lands by Mason.

Tomas shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mason manages to get to full guard.
Tomas stays in close to Mason's body and controls the position.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mason wants to control the position but Tomas says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Mason is looking for a sweep. Tomas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mason is defending against the submission attempts here by Tomas.
Mason has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tomas is working away from the top position though.
Tomas content to control rather than advance.

Tomas is working for a kimura but Mason is defending it quite comfortably.
Tomas not doing much here.
Mason wants to get back to full guard.
Mason wants to control but Tomas is keeping busy.
Tomas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mason throws a leg kick which misses Tomas's front leg but catches the back leg as Tomas tries to avoid it.

Tomas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mason, pushing him back against the cage.

Tomas turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Tomas lands a decent elbow from side control.
Mason could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mason is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tomas is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Tomas. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Mason is desperately trying to improve his position but Tomas has a good base and remains in mount.

Tomas is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mason has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mason!

Jay Tomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Mason takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mason avoids the body shot from Tomas.

Tomas closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mason's guard.
Tomas trying to control but Mason is working from the bottom.
Mason tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tomas wants to stand but Mason is controlling his posture from full guard.
Tomas controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tomas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tomas lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tomas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mason is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Tomas connects with a couple of short punches.
Tomas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mason is proving hard to escape from.

Tomas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mason fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mason throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mason throws a jab when Tomas was well out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mason tries to bum rush Tomas with a series of wild strikes but Tomas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mason enables Tomas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mason manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Tomas wants to stand but Mason has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mason wants to sweep here but Tomas controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mason tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Tomas easily slips into full mount!
Mason is bucking up trying to escape but Tomas cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Mason keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Jay Tomas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tomas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
