Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankestein Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir has chosen SURF RIDER!!! by The lively ones! as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Fenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankestein Mir!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir goes for a double leg but Fenix avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fenix continues to drive forward.

Mir pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fenix misses with a kick to the body.
Fenix tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mir was well out of range. Poor timing from Fenix.
Mir misses with a takedown attempt - Fenix sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fenix looks to land a body kick but Mir moved away.
Fenix throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Mir counters with a leg kick.
Mir misses with a takedown
and Fenix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Marcus Fenix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frankestein Mir.
Fenix scores with a spinning back kick!
Horrible takedown attempt by Fenix or perhaps it was just good defense by Mir, which made it look bad.
We've been hearing reports that Fenix has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fenix manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mir on his heels. He'll look to pass Mir's guard now, I'm sure.

Mir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fenix doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fenix manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mir can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fenix controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fenix passes into half guard.
Mir has hold of Fenix's hands but Fenix slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Fenix landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Fenix with the ground and pound but Mir uses the opportunity to regain guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fenix gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fenix throws a big right hand that misses.
Fenix stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mir swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mir can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fenix controls the pace.
Mir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fenix lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Fenix throws an elbow that misses. Mir uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fenix's guard. Nice move by Mir!


That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fenix is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mir rolls with it to try and escape but Fenix cranks on the arm and Mir is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marcus Fenix!
