Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ben Sander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giuseppe Luca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luca throws out a loose jab but Sander uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sander steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Luca.
Luca loads up on a big right hand but Sander slips the punch.

Sander pushes Luca up against the cage in a clinch.

Sander ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sander lands a head kick. Luca smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Luca is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sander accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sander is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ben Sander has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sloppy strikes from Luca. Those never looked like landing.
Luca misses with the combination.

Sander moves into the clinch successfully.
Sander tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Sander tries to land a knee to the head but Luca blocks with his arms.
Sander lands with a left to the head.

Sander's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Luca throws a nice looking combination but Sander bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sander avoids the body shot from Luca.
Giuseppe Luca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sander darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Still in half guard, Sander seems content to control.
Luca is trying to stand up here but Sander is controlling him well.
Sander will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sander is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ben Sander.
Sander ducks under a wild hook from Luca.
Luca misses with a straight right.
Luca swings for the body but Sander moves out of range.
Luca throws a right and a left that Sander avoids nicely.

Sander drives through and clinches with Luca against the cage.

Luca is trying to break free.
Sander lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Luca or not.
Sander really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sander tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Luca just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sander breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Luca throws a right hand that Sander ducks under and follows up with a left that Sander also avoids with ease.
Luca might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The fighters circling - Luca throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Luca misses with a wild body shot.
Luca fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sander manages to avoid it.

and Sander counters with a nice double leg into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sander shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Luca is trying to defend but Sander finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
