PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Meida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Luke Page was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meida shoots for a double leg takedown but Page sprawls well. He's pushed Meida's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Page shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Meida napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Page cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Page wants to control the pace but Meida is squirming around nicely.

Meida sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Luke Page was stalling too much, according to the referee.
No luck for Page with that takedown attempt.
Meida shoots in but Page avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Page shoots in looking for a takedown but Meida manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Page's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Thiago Meida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Page.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Page closes the distance and clinches up with Meida, looking for a takedown. Page pushes Meida against the cage but Meida circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
