The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Petty!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gracie working the strikes but Petty uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Petty is trying to stand.
Petty tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gracie is keen to just control but Petty is a slippery customer.
Petty wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Petty is trying is best to control the position here.

Gracie is trying to control. Petty wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Gracie trying to mount his opponent but Petty defends it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hingson Gracie.
Petty shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gracie sprawls well. Gracie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Petty gets slowly back to his feet.

Petty gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Gracie successfully pulls guard.
Petty wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie has his hands on Petty's head, controlling the position.

Petty distracts Gracie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Petty pushes his legs off easily.
Petty has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gracie connects with a nice short shot to Petty's temple.

Petty is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.
Petty is breathing heavily.
Petty has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.
Gracie wants to stand up but Petty has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Petty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gracie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Petty!
Petty is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount.
Petty tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gracie tries to control but Petty wriggling away.

Gracie is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Petty is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Petty flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gracie anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Petty and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gracie slips an arm under Petty chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gracie has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gracie is squeezing on Petty like an anaconda would it's prey. Petty fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
