PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arlen Bullock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augustus NP (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). NP has chosen Mr.Wonderful as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bullock fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

NP looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bullock!
NP tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Bullock manages to work his way to half guard, despite NP's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bullock is controlling NP's position as best he can from this difficult position.
NP wants to stand up but Bullock is controlling the position.
NP is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Bullock manages to get to full guard.
NP wants to stand and escape but instead Bullock has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Bullock won't allow NP to get back to his feet.

Bullock postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
NP is wriggling around but Bullock manages to pass to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if NP can do anything to dispel that myth.
NP is trying to stand back up but Bullock is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bullock not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Bullock is looking for a kimura here.

NP tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Bullock manages to move to mount!

Bullock gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
NP defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bullock.
Bullock misses with a jab, cross combination.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bullock enables NP to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bullock manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bullock wants to get back to his feet but NP is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bullock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
NP wanted to stand there but Bullock had control of the position.
Bullock is trying to keep NP in close.
NP tries to stand but Bullock is controlling from the bottom.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bullock wants to stand and escape but NP is having none of it.
NP wants to stand and escape but instead Bullock has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bullock throws a big elbow that misses.
NP wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bullock manages to pass to side control.
NP really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bullock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
NP looks winded!
NP is trying to stand up here but Bullock is controlling him well.

Bullock stands up and beckons NP to join him on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
NP tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Arlen Bullock will probably get the nod.

Bullock is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

NP closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bullock quickly recovers to half guard.
Bullock pushes NP off looking to stand but NP dives back in and keeps control.
It looks like NP is going to stand back up.

NP decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
NP is breathing heavily.
No luck for Bullock with that takedown attempt.
Augustus NP is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

NP closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bullock quickly recovers to half guard.
Bullock is trying to maintain the position but NP is very close to passing his half guard.

Bullock kicks off NP and gets to his feet.
Bullock closes this distance looking for a takedown but NP circles away.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bullock checks a leg kick.
Bullock shoots for a takedown but NP saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arlen Bullock. That's going to take a lot out of him.

NP gets a double leg takedown into Bullock's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
NP trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bullock's guard.
Bullock is trying to control the position but NP postures up.
NP wants to stand but Bullock is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bullock manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Bullock is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but NP is surviving well by controlling Bullock's body position as best he can.

NP tries to buck Bullock off but he can't manage it.

NP has left one of his arms exposed and Bullock doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. NP screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
