Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Normand Stein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Lindroth!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein closes the distance but Lindroth moves to the side
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stein on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lindroth. Lindroth obviously looking to wear him down.
Lindroth dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lindroth misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Stein.

Lindroth closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Stein tries to kick Lindroth off but Lindroth keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lindroth is looking for a kimura but Stein is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lindroth to get the leverage.
Stein is trying to control but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stein is trying to stand up here but Lindroth is controlling him well.
Lindroth lands with a punch from half guard.

Lindroth throwing shots but Stein is blocking nicely.
Lindroth stops Stein from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stein is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lindroth pulls his head out easily.
Stein is breathing heavily.

Stein tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Well, if Lindroth is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Stein with the active half guard here but Lindroth passes nicely into side control.

Stein tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Lindroth controlling his opponent.
Let's hope that Lindroth has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Stein is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Lindroth takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lindroth throws some wild stikes that Stein manages to avoid easily.

Lindroth throwing strikes here but Stein is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Stein wants to get back to his feet.

Lindroth is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stein can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Lindroth can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stein is looking to escape.
Lindroth avoids the attempt from Stein to control.
Stein really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Stein keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Stein tries to hold on but Lindroth postures up.

Lindroth get's back to his feet.

Lindroth shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stein is trying to defend but Lindroth finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Stein wants to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lindroth takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lindroth is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stein has managed to free his arm - good work.
Stein won't allow Lindroth to pass to mount.
Stein wants to get back to his feet.

Stein is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lindroth pulls his head out easily.

Stein tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Stein pushes Lindroth off but Lindroth dives into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lindroth moves into full mount!

Lindroth wants to control the pace but Stein is squirming around nicely.
Stein keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lindroth working the ground and pound effectively.
Lindroth thowing shots but they're missing.
Stein is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Lindroth looking to finish with strikes here!

Stein holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Lindroth tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Lindroth controlling from mount.
Lindroth's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Stein tries to hold on but Lindroth pushes him away.
Lindroth looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stein is bucking up trying to escape but Lindroth cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Stein swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Lindroth controlling from mount.
Lindroth has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lindroth throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Stein wants to control but Lindroth is having none of it.
Stein working to try and regain half guard.
Stein squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Stein throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Lindroth is landing with some decent strikes but Stein is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Lindroth looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Stein covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
