Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takehiko Takaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Skyshriek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takaki's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Mahavishnu Orchestra - Meeting Of The Spirits. Skyshriek has chosen The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takaki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Skyshriek. That did some damage!
Takaki works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Skyshriek has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Skyshriek dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Skyshriek walks into a jab.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Skyshriek.
Takaki looks to throw the jab but Skyshriek is out of range.
Takaki misses with a low kick.
Skyshriek tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Takaki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Skyshriek scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Takaki throws a head kick but Skyshriek moves out of range.

Takaki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Skyshriek but Skyshriek pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Skyshriek loads up on a big right hand but Takaki slips the punch.
Skyshriek rushes Takaki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Takaki on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Takaki drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takehiko Takaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Skyshriek wants to improve his position but Takaki is controlling well.
Takaki is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Skyshriek is pressing down on Takaki's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Skyshriek wants to sweep but no luck.
Skyshriek manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Skyshriek goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Takaki is on top in guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Takaki's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Takaki throws a strike but Skyshriek rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skyshriek wants to control from the top but Takaki keeps moving.

Takaki manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Skyshriek manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Takaki throws out a loose jab but Skyshriek uses good head movement to avoid it.

Skyshriek looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Takaki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Skyshriek is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Zack Skyshriek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Skyshriek will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Takaki throws a half hearted mid kick.
Takaki walks into a left hand.
Skyshriek throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Skyshriek fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Takaki.

and Skyshriek counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Skyshriek.
Takaki lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Skyshriek or not.

The referee is keeping an eye on Skyshriek - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Takaki turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Takaki manages to end up in side control.

Skyshriek has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Takaki has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Skyshriek looking to break Takaki's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Takaki remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Skyshriek will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Skyshriek thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Skyshriek goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Takaki escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Skyshriek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Takaki stalling away here and it's allowed Skyshriek to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Skyshriek feints and then cracks Takaki's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Takaki down.

Skyshriek closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Skyshriek bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takaki's head backwards.
Takaki is looking to chop away at Skyshriek's legs.
Zack Skyshriek is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Skyshriek checks a low kick from Takaki.
Skyshriek shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Takaki is staying active underneath Skyshriek, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Zack Skyshriek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Skyshriek has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
