PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Eldars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morten Guldhammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guldhammer moves into the clinch.
Eldars wants a takedown but no success here.
Eldars tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Guldhammer smiles and moves away.
Eldars blocks a head kick by Guldhammer.
Eldars takes a swing at Guldhammer's ribcage but misses.
Eldars tries for a takedown but Guldhammer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankie Eldars. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Eldars throws a right hand that misses
and Guldhammer counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Guldhammer lands a nice looking body shot.
Eldars fails in his attempt to clinch.
Guldhammer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Eldars pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Eldars throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Guldhammer on the side of the head.
Eldars misses with a hook. Guldhammer ducked under it nicely.

Eldars lands with an uppercut that bounces Guldhammer off the cage and back into range.
Eldars darts in trying to clinch
and Guldhammer counters with a head kick. That will keep Eldars thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Eldars tries to clinch up but Guldhammer circles away and keeps his distance.
Eldars missing with a left hand there. Guldhammer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Guldhammer dodges the punch combination from Eldars.
Eldars uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Guldhammer has time to react.
Nice takedown defense from Eldars. No joy for Guldhammer on that attempt.
Guldhammer shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Eldars eats them both and turns towards Guldhammer to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Eldars lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Eldars shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Eldars was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Eldars decides to stand back up.

Eldars throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Guldhammer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Eldars wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Guldhammer tries to pull guard but Eldars holds him up against the cage and eventually Guldhammer drops back down to his feet.
Guldhammer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Eldars after a bit of a struggle.
Eldars misses with a punch to the body.
Eldars tries to break free but Guldhammer pushes him back against the cage.

Guldhammer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Eldars tries to clinch but Guldhammer is having none of it.
Guldhammer shoots in for a double leg but Eldars sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Eldars throws out a loose jab but Guldhammer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Guldhammer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eldars avoids it really well and circles away.
Eldars lands a nice shot to the body.

Eldars moves in looking to clinch but Guldhammer pushes him off.
Jab, jab by Eldars - just one landing.
Guldhammer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Eldars throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guldhammer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Eldars is in Guldhammer's guard.
Guldhammer is looking to stand up but Eldars isn't so interested in that idea.
Eldars is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Eldars makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Eldars trying to control the position from guard on top but Guldhammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Eldars is looking to work some ground and pound but Guldhammer has wrist control.

Eldars drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Eldars jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Eldars trying to control the position from guard on top but Guldhammer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Guldhammer looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Eldars puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Eldars passes the guard and advances to mount!

Eldars has isolated one of Guldhammer's arms. Guldhammer looking to fight him off but Eldars twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
