PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shon Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mack has chosen March of the Pigs by Nine Inch Nails as his entrance music. The key to victory for Justin Lynch has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shon Mack!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mack is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Lynch closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mack wants to control the action here but instead Lynch manages to pass to full mount!
Lynch blocks Mack's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mack is wriggling around trying to escape.

Lynch is working for a guillotine from mount but Mack frees his head quite easily.

Lynch get's back to his feet.
Mack doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lynch counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mack has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lynch has passed into side control.
Mack is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Lynch blocks the strikes from Mack.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mack wants to control but Lynch is keeping busy.
Mack tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lynch manages to move to mount!
Mack is controlling an arm, preventing Lynch from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Lynch jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mack manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Mack tries to bench press Lynch off him but Lynch keeps the position.

Lynch decides to stand back up.
Mack misses with a double jab

and Lynch moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lynch lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mack or not.
Mack looks gassed!

Lynch breaks from the clinch.
Shon Mack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mack throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lynch counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Lynch clinches with his opponent.
Mack tries to break the clinch but Lynch is controlling the position.
Lynch lands an elbow just above Mack 's eye.
Mack is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Lynch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mack tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mack drops his hands momentarily and Lynch takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lynch, as that shot connected.

Lynch moves into range and clinches up with Mack.
Lynch lands with a right to the head.
Lynch pushes Mack back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Mack is rocked!
Lynch throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Macks head.
Mack is still on wobbly legs! Can Lynch finish him?
Lynch creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Mack with a big uppercut! Mack tries to clinch up but Lynch pushes him back against the cage and lands another moster strike that crumples Mack to the mat! Mack covers up and Lynch unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
