The crowd seem to be enjoying Vanko's choice of entrance music: Oh No by Gogol Bordello. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ivan Vanko enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hillis looks to land a combination but Vanko avoids it well.
Hillis throws a series of strikes that have Vanko backpedaling.

It looks like Ivan Vanko has been cut.

Vanko on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hillis throws a hook to the side of Vanko's head but Vanko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The fighters circling - Hillis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hillis slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Vanko tries to move into range but Hillis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Vanko ducks right into an uppercut from Hillis.

That has opened up Ivan Vanko's cut even more.
Hillis throws a left and a right that both miss

and Vanko counters by clinching up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vanko has Hillis pressed against the cage, preventing Hillis from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hillis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Hillis breaks from the clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hillis!
Hillis throws a lazy right hand but Vanko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vanko fails in his attempt to clinch.
A left lands for Hillis.
Hillis keeps the fight on the outside.
Hillis throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Vanko on the side of the head.

The cut above Ivan Vanko's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Some wild striking there from Hillis.
Hillis lands a two punch combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Hillis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ivan Vanko's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Hillis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hillis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Peyton Hillis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hillis throws a nice looking combination but Vanko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Vanko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ivan Vanko's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
