Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luciano Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Izzy Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz's entrance music is Smack That. A fine choice. Griffin has chosen Walk as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luciano Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Izzy Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cruz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Griffin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Griffin tries to improve position but can't.
Cruz connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Griffin some visible discomfort.
Griffin throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Griffin is looking to regain half guard here but Cruz keeps moving and retains side control.

and Cruz counters with a nice kick to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Cruz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Griffin's guard.
Griffin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cruz manages to escape and get back to his feet!
We've been informed that Griffin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cruz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cruz lands with a kick to the temple. Griffin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Izzy Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Cruz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Griffin is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cruz finds Griffin's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Griffin flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Cruz lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Griffin will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Luciano Cruz!
A pretty intense looking Luciano Cruz took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
