Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Flynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Bessac!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bessac decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bessac landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Bessac trying to control the action but Flynn is working from the bottom.
Flynn trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Bessac manages to pass to mount!
Bessac lands a big elbow.
Bessac can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Flynn is looking to escape.
Flynn is desperately trying to improve his position but Bessac has a good base and remains in mount.
Flynn wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bessac.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bessac controlling from the full mount.
Bessac looking to control but Flynn is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Bessac lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Flynn can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bessac wants to control but instead Flynn manages to regain half guard.
Flynn slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bessac trying to control but Flynn is working from the bottom.
Bessac lands a couple of elbows.
Flynn wants to sweep here but Bessac controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Flynn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Flynn working for a triangle but Bessac defends it easily.
Flynn keeping moving, preventing Bessac from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Flynn throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Scott Bessac was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Bessac forces Flynn back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Flynn lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bessac backwards.
Flynn takes a knee to the side of the body.
Flynn throws a punch but it's blocked by Bessac.
Bessac throws an elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Bessac dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Flynn tries to clinch but Bessac is having none of it.
Flynn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bessac's waist but Bessac gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flynn off to one side.
Bessac swats away the attempt to clinch by Flynn.

Bessac bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bessac is chipping away with strikes.


Flynn is rocked!

Bessac is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Flynn looks calm but he's in trouble here. Bessac gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Flynn is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Bessac lets go of the hold and Flynn can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Scott Bessac!
