The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shahid with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Richer to score with a decent uppercut.
Bobby Richer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shahid creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Richer sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Shahid looks up at the clock and then as Richer takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Shahid smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Richer takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
