Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Stabber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Trap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Stabber has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Stabber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Trap!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trap closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stabber takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Stabber is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
An elbow from Trap crashes against the mat.
Stabber is looking for a sweep.
Stabber might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Trap sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stabber is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Trap throws an elbow but Stabber slips to the side and avoids it well.
Trap working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trap is working Stabber over with some ground and pound from side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stabber throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Trap throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Stabber works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Stabber wants to improve his position but Trap is controlling well.

Trap looks to land a strike but Stabber avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Trap throws a strike but Stabber rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Stabber thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Stabber got a little sloppy there for a moment and Trap has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stabber has managed to get both his arms back between Trap's legs - danger averted.
Stabber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trap swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stabber looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stabber throws a big right hand that misses.
Stabber trying to control the position from guard on top but Trap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stabber working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Trap wants to sweep here but Stabber controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trap can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stabber postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Stabber drops back, looking for a kneebar! Trap looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Trap looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Trap!
Stabber is looking to reverse the position.

Trap goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Stabber has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Trap but great work by Stabber.
Trap is looking for a sweep.

Trap is not content to let Stabber control the position.

Trap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stabber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stabber is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Trap has escaped the position, nice work there.

Stabber swings around for an armbar but Trap sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Stabber's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Stabber is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Trap defends well.
Trap postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Stabber will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Trap feints and as Stabber raises his hands in defense, Trap changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Stabber looking for a triangle here. Trap is fighting it but it looks tight! Stabber pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Trap is tapping out - this one is all over!
