PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rube Lukas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Gambino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gary Gambino told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rube Lukas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gary Gambino!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lukas avoids the head kick by Gambino.

Lukas shoots in for a takedown and gets it, with a heavy slam. That will score well with the judges.
Gambino is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lukas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gambino wants to stand but Lukas is controlling the position.

Lukas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gambino tries to clinch up but Lukas circles away and keeps his distance.
Gambino shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lukas pinned against the cage. Lukas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gambino shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lukas but Lukas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gambino throws a head kick but Lukas moves out of range.

Lukas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gambino looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gambino looks gassed!
Gambino is trying to buck Lukas off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lukas grinds an elbow into Gambino's temple.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Lukas in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Gambino is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
