Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seymour Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Massimo Spaccatore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seymour Duffy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Massimo Spaccatore!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duffy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Spaccatore feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Spaccatore tries to free his leg and advance position but Duffy is retaining full guard.
Spaccatore forces his way into half guard.
Spaccatore slows the pace down in half guard.
Duffy wants to get back to full guard.
Duffy wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duffy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Duffy.
Duffy pulls Spaccatore in close to his closed guard and prevents Spaccatore from doing any damage or advancing position.

Duffy working a defensive guard but Spaccatore manages to pass into side control anyway.

Spaccatore is looking to take a break and control but Duffy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Spaccatore decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Massimo Spaccatore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spaccatore shoots in looking for a takedown but Duffy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Spaccatore's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Spaccatore looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Duffy is fending him off so far but Spaccatore persists. Nope, Duffy circles away and we're back to standing.

Spaccatore displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Duffy.

Spaccatore instigates a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spaccatore is trying to pull guard but Duffy turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Duffy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spaccatore walks away with a smile on his face. Duffy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Spaccatore counters with a nice body kick.
Duffy is breathing heavily.

Spaccatore shoots in for a double leg but Duffy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Spaccatore doesn't manage to clinch there - Duffy circles away.
Spaccatore thows a body kick. Duffy tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Duffy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duffy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sloppy strikes from Spaccatore. Those never looked like landing.

Spaccatore has managed to clinch.

Spaccatore has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Duffy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Spaccatore scores with a shot to the side of Duffy's head.
Spaccatore goes for a takedown attempt but Duffy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Spaccatore throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Duffy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Duffy wants it to stay on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spaccatore shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duffy pinned against the cage. Duffy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Spaccatore tries to clinch up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Duffy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Spaccatore counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Spaccatore throws a sloppy head kick and Duffy moves out of range easily.

Duffy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Duffy sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Spaccatore defending well though.
Spaccatore trying to hold on to Duffy's head to control him but Duffy postures up.
Spaccatore regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Duffy.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duffy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Duffy with a flurry of punches that miss.
Duffy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Spaccatore's head.
Duffy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Spaccatore keeping moving, preventing Duffy from controlling successfully.
Massimo Spaccatore has got the better of the ground game so far.

Spaccatore is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Duffy tries to kick Spaccatore off but Spaccatore keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Duffy is trying to maintain the position but Spaccatore is very close to passing his half guard.

Spaccatore wants to free his trapped foot but Duffy is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Spaccatore is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Spaccatore is trying to control. Duffy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Massimo Spaccatore wasn't active enough on the ground.
Duffy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Spaccatore dives in for a single leg takedown but Duffy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Duffy is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Spaccatore to keep the fight standing.

It looks like Seymour Duffy has been cut.
Spaccatore jumps guard but Duffy stands there with Spaccatore around his waist. Spaccatore gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seymour Duffy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Duffy jumps guard but Spaccatore turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Duffy is trying to push Spaccatore away but Spaccatore has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Spaccatore will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Duffy misses with an uppercut.

Spaccatore is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Spaccatore drops back looking for a leg! Duffy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Duffy manages to kick Spaccatore off! Spaccatore jumps back into Duffy's guard.
Duffy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duffy wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Spaccatore manages to pass to side control.
Duffy is trying to stand back up but Spaccatore is controlling him
Spaccatore looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Duffy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Spaccatore is working away from the top position though.
Duffy is looking for a sweep. Spaccatore is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Spaccatore stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Duffy to get to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Spaccatore.
Seymour Duffy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Massimo Spaccatore.

The fight stays on the outside here - Spaccatore looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Duffy throws an elbow that misses. Spaccatore uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Duffy's guard. Nice move by Spaccatore!

Massimo Spaccatore comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Spaccatore has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
