Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pepe LePew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LePew comes to the cage accompanied by Smoke Serpent- . Hopkins has chosen Coming home -Dirty money as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Hopkins!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins lands with a thumping leg kick.

LePew closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - LePew lands in his opponent's guard.

Hopkins isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. LePew stacks Hopkins on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by LePew!

LePew goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hopkins rolls with the submission and now he's on top in LePew's guard! Nice work there by Hopkins!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now LePew is on top in guard.

LePew slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
LePew wants to control but Hopkins is keeping him busy.

LePew is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hopkins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hopkins tries to improve position but can't.

LePew lands an elbow.
Hopkins tries to buck LePew off but LePew is having none of it.
Hopkins looking for a sweep but LePew has passed into full mount! Oh no!
LePew cracks Hopkins with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hopkins is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hopkins sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

LePew is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hopkins sees it coming and defends easily.

LePew wants to pass the guard but Hopkins is defending well.
Hopkins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hopkins wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

LePew avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hopkins can't keep his opponent in guard - LePew advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
LePew frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

LePew is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hopkins to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hopkins shrugs it off.
Hopkins regains half guard.
Hopkins tries to roll over but LePew keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pepe LePew dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hopkins scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hopkins's coach down at Muayfit MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hopkins's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hopkins pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hopkins throws a solid leg kick but LePew takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hopkins.
LePew has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from LePew there as he acknowledges the shot.
LePew looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Hopkins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hopkins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

LePew is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hopkins stands and throws LePew's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hopkins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, LePew has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LePew gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
LePew works his way to full guard. Good work.

LePew working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hopkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hopkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hopkins is looking for a kimura but LePew is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hopkins to get the leverage.

LePew looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Hopkins is defending well. LePew quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hopkins has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! LePew celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
