The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Jon misses.
Jon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Shambles avoids a punch combination nicely.
A big left from Jon misses.
Jon throws a looping overhand right but Shambles ducks down to avoid it.
Jon throws a jab when Shambles was well out of range.
Nice defenses there by Shambles.
Jon misses with an uppercut. Shambles saw that one coming.
Shambles moves out of range as Jon strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jon throws a hook but Shambles blocks it.
Jon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shambles was well out of range. Poor timing from Jon.
Shambles uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jon.
Jon misses with an uppercut. Shambles saw that one coming.
Shambles dives in and grabs Jon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jon pushes down on Shambles's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shambles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jon as he avoids it easily.
Shambles fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jon sprawls well initially but Shambles persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shambles prevents Jon from standing back up.
Shambles is looking for a kimura here.
Shambles in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jon tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Shambles!
