Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russ Atkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason has chosen The Beautiful People as his entrance music. Bill Mason has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Russ Atkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bill Mason!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mason moves into range and clinches up with Atkinson.
Atkinson can't break the clinch.
Mason wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Atkinson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mason has had enough of the clinch but Atkinson keeps him there for the moment.
Mason lands a right hand.

Atkinson gets control of Mason's arms and successfully pulls guard. Atkinson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mason in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mason distracts Atkinson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mason trying to control but Atkinson is working from the bottom.
Mason wants to stand but Atkinson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Atkinson pushes Mason off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Atkinson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Atkinson is looking for a kimura here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mason tries to get to full guard but Atkinson has control of the leg.

Atkinson wants to work for an arm triangle but Mason is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mason pushes Atkinson off looking to stand but Atkinson dives back in and keeps control.
Mason is looking to improve his position.
Atkinson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mason kicks Atkinson off and gets back to his feet.
Mason swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mason moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Mason with a nice cross.
Atkinson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Atkinson shoots in for a double leg but Mason sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A jab from Mason finds it's way through Atkinson's defenses.
A combination from Mason does no damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Atkinson finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Mason's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Atkinson falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
