PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Warren Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Elves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Elves's choice of entrance music: Korn - Coming Undone. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Warren Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Elves!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Parker misses the shot to the body.
Elves shoots for a takedown but Parker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Elves throws a head kick but Parker moves out of range.
Parker tries to clinch there but Elves circles away.
Elves shoots in and drives through. Parker sprawls well.
Parker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Parker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Elves closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Parker gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Elves is trying to stand back up but Parker is controlling him
Elves wants to improve his position but Parker is controlling well.
Elves is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Parker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Parker's back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Elves gets his hands free as Parker looks to control.
Elves has the hooks in. Parker is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Parker keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Elves wants to stand but Parker is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Elves is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Parker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Parker shrugs it off.

Parker is looking to improve his position but Elves isn't that keen on the idea.

Parker is in a horrible position here. Elves smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Elves thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Parker is looking to get to half guard.
Parker holds on, trying desperately to control.
Parker is trying to escape the mount.
Elves throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Parker because Elves loaded up on that one.
Parker wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Elves.
Parker is wriggling around trying to escape.
Parker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Elves dominating with strikes here.
Parker tries to hold on but Elves pushes him away.
Elves lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Elves is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Parker is surviving well by controlling Elves's body position as best he can.
Elves scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Parker?
Parker tries to hold on but Elves postures up.
Parker is trying to escape the mount.
Parker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Elves is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Parker is surviving well by controlling Elves's body position as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Elves dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Parker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Elves shoots in for a takedown but Parker shows good takedown defense.
Elves has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Elves takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Parker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Elves.
Parker tries to clinch there but Elves circles away.
Parker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Elves was well out of range. Poor timing from Parker.
Parker seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Parker misses with a low kick.
Parker tries to clinch up.
Parker takes a swing at Elves's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice sprawl there from Parker as Elves shoots in.
Elves dives in and grabs Parker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Parker pushes down on Elves's head and hops out.
Warren Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Elves.
Parker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Elves was well out of range. Poor timing from Parker.
Parker throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Parker has Elves up against the cage in a clinch.

Elves has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Parker is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Parker prevents a takedown attempt there.
Elves wants to take the fight to the mat but Parker manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Parker works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Parker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Elves's guard.

Parker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Elves is breathing heavily.
Elves misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Parker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Elves has managed to free his arm - good work.

Parker is looking for submissions but instead, Elves has regained full guard.
Parker postures up.
Parker is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Elves thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parker looking to pass the guard.

Elves is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Parker has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Elves taps out instantly and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Warren Parker!
A relieved looking Warren Parker thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
