The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Peter Brdjan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brdjan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Higgins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Brdjan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Higgins napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Brdjan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Higgins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Brdjan swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Higgins is now in Brdjan's guard. A big mistake from Brdjan there, giving up the dominant position!

That's time! Higgins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Brdjan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Higgins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Higgins lands a couple of digs.

Brdjan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Higgins stacks Brdjan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Higgins!
