The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kilpatrick drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kilpatrick stays in close to Chan's body and controls the position.
Chan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kilpatrick manages to pass to side control.
Chan pushes Kilpatrick off looking to stand but Kilpatrick dives back in and keeps control.
Chan scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kilpatrick manages to mount him!
Chan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chan tries to get out of the position.
Kilpatrick lands a heavy elbow.
Kilpatrick has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

It looks like Kilpatrick might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Chan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kilpatrick on the ground.
Kilpatrick scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Kilpatrick takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Chan wants to hold on but Kilpatrick pushes him away.
