Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anthony J (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Dweller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony J!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Dweller!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

J scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
J is looking to advance position but Dweller won't allow it.
Still in half guard, J seems content to control.
J tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dweller knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
J slows the pace down in half guard.
J moves nicely into side control.
J is staying tight to Dweller's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dweller is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
J wants to control but Dweller is keeping him busy.
J controls the position.
Dweller tries to improve position but can't.

Dweller manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
J is figuring out what he wants to do next.
J is breathing heavily.
Dweller is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Dweller manages to get to full guard.
J stands and throws Dweller's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dweller tries to buck J off but J is having none of it.
Dweller gets back to half guard.
J wants to pass to mount but Dweller is defending the position.
Dweller wants to control but J is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dweller pushes J off looking to stand but J dives back in and keeps control.
J controlling the action here.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
J wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dweller keeps working.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dweller misses with a takedown

and J counters with a shoot takedown. Dweller fights it but they end up in guard.
J wants to control from the top but Dweller keeps moving.
Dweller looking for a sweep. Not yet Dweller, not yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
J trying to control but Dweller is working from the bottom.

J stands and throws Dweller's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dweller tries to improve position but can't.

J is looking to take a break and control but Dweller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Dweller's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony J dominated that round.
That's time! J's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dweller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dweller looks to land a combination but J avoids it well.

J shoots in and bounces Dweller off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
J controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dweller pulls J in to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
J stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dweller swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dweller has his feet on J's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Dweller throws a solid leg kick but J takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Dweller.

and J moves into the clinch.
Dweller misses with a shot to the kidneys.

J wants to get back to striking at distance but Dweller won't allow it.
Dweller effectively controlling the action here.

Dweller is looking to control J's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dweller avoid being mounted?
Dweller wants to get back to full guard.
J blocks the strikes from Dweller.
J is pressing down on Dweller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dweller is holding on for now.
J passes to side control.
J is looking to take a break and control but Dweller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
J happy to just control the position for now.

J wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dweller keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dweller is trying to control J's posture but J avoids it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Anthony J just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and J counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

J stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dweller swivels though and keeps the full guard.
J is working hard here to advance position.
Dweller can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as J controls the pace.
J wants to pass the guard but Dweller is keeping the position.
Anthony J overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dweller is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony J dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Dweller with a poor takedown

and J counters with a nice double leg into guard.
J is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
J could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
J's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

J not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Dweller is trying to keep J in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dweller closes the distance and clinches.
Dweller misses with a knee strike.
Dweller lands a knee to the head.
J prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dweller wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

J has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dweller uses from the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dweller pushes down on J's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Dweller is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and J defends it well.
J wants to control but Dweller is keeping busy and won't allow it.

J lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dweller!
J controlling the pace for now.
J forces the positional change into back control.
J is riding his opponent, not letting Dweller buck him off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
J has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Will J go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The referee stands the fighters back up. Anthony J just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
J shoots in and drives through. Dweller sprawls well.

Mike Dweller has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
J is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
J on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if J tries to get out of the position.
Dweller wants to stand and escape but instead J has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Anthony J showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for J, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
