Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tj Forrest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tj Forrest has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tj Forrest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luke Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forrest tries to clinch but Taylor moves away
and Taylor counters with a nice body shot.
Forrest looks to clinch
and Taylor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Taylor waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Forrest.
Taylor tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Forrest throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Taylor.
Forrest shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Taylor as he jumps to the side.
A head kick misses from Forrest.
Forrest tries to clinch but Taylor is having none of it.
Taylor looks to land a combination. Forrest sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Taylor tries to keep at a distance but Forrest has taken the fight into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Forrest wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Taylor has him pressed against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Forrest escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Taylor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Forrest.
Forrest is trying hard to land a takedown here. Taylor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Forrest tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Taylor paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Forrest fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tj Forrest. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Forrest shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Forrest showed some decent athleticism there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Forrest is looking to take a break and control but Taylor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Taylor is trying to control but can't.
Forrest sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor works his way to full guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tj Forrest.
Taylor feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Forrests jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Forrest is looking to land body kicks.
Taylor lands a nice looking kick to the body. Forrest takes a step back to recover.
Forrest fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Forrest is breathing heavily.
Forrest lands a really nice looking cross but Taylor seems unphased.
Forrest dives in and grabs Taylor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Taylor pushes down on Forrest's head and hops out.
Nice body kick there by Taylor.
Taylor misses with a low kick as Forrest jumps back.
Forrest tries to clinch but Taylor moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Forrest gets a takedown into half guard.
Taylor trying to control but Forrest postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Forrest is looking to pass Taylor's guard but actually Taylor recovers to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Luke Taylor will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Taylor throws a body kick that misses.
Forrest fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Taylor avoids it really well and circles away.
Forrest misses with a head kick.
Forrest tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Taylor paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Forrest rushes Taylor and presses him up against the cage.
Forrest is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Forrest swings wildly with an uppercut but Taylor uses good head movement to avoid it.
With the fighters up against the cage, Forrest throws an elbow but misses.

Taylor is trying to force a seperation but Forrest has the dominant position.

Taylor breaks the clinch.

Forrest shoots in and gets a takedown into Taylor's guard.
Taylor keeping moving, preventing Forrest from controlling successfully.
Forrest stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taylor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Taylor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Taylor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Forrest is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Taylor looking to control.

Taylor throws his legs up looking for a submission but Forrest uses it to pass to side control.

Taylor tries to buck Forrest off but Forrest is having none of it.
The referee asks Forrest politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Forrest prefers to stall for the moment though.
Forrest wants to stand but Taylor is controlling his arm.
Taylor taking punishment in the form of punches.
Taylor trying his best to control but Forrest has mounted him.
Forrest looking to control but Taylor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Forrest working the ground and pound effectively.

Forrest controlling the position easily from mount.

Taylor defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Forrest.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Forrest has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Taylor's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tj Forrest dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Taylor misses with a double jab.

Forrest darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Forrest is trying to control the action in half guard but Taylor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Forrest tries to pass to full mount but Taylor defends it.
Forrest wants to take a breather but Taylor is having none of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Forrest looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tj Forrest has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Forrest throws the kick towards the body but Taylor avoids it.
Luke Taylor seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Forrest looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Taylor is fending him off so far but Forrest persists. Nope, Taylor circles away and we're back to standing.
Taylor misses with a body kick.
Forrest works over Taylor's head and body with a nice combination.
Forrest is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Taylor stuffs the takedown.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Forrest shoots in but Taylor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tj Forrest. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taylor lands a nice shot to the body.

No luck for Forrest with that takedown attempt.
Luke Taylor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Taylor connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Forrest momentarily.
Taylor scores with a kick to the midsection.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Taylor throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Taylor shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Forrest eats them both and turns towards Taylor to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Taylor connects with a leg kick. Forrest looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Taylor tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Taylor throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Forrest's head.
Danga de danga de dang - Taylor scores with a four punch combination!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Forrest takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Forrest slips a jab and a cross from Taylor.
Forrest tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Taylor defends well and Forrest ends up having to push Taylor into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Taylor breaks the clinch.
Forrest blocks a head kick by Taylor.
Forrest shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Taylor but Taylor pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Taylor scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Forrest misses with a takedown attempt - Taylor sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Taylor throws a head kick that misses.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Taylor. Forrest shrugs it off though.
Forrest tries to clinch there but Taylor circles away.
Forrest fails with a takedown attempt.
Taylor lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taylor bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Forrest's head backwards.
Forrest misses with a wild combination.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luke Taylor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Taylor has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
