Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Franz Grave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emunn Samvesu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Franz Grave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Emunn Samvesu!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samvesu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Grave throws a wild body kick that Samvesu sees coming a mile off.

Grave throws a low kick, looking for Samvesu's leg but Samvesu calmly moves out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Grave.
A nice inside leg kick there by Grave. That's going to slow Samvesu down.
Samvesu shoots in and drives through. Grave sprawls well.

Samvesu scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Grave tries to bench press Samvesu off him but Samvesu keeps the position.

Samvesu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Grave does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Samvesu's coach down at The Cave Fighting Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Samvesu's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Grave throws a punch but it's blocked by Samvesu.
Samvesu changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grave fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Samvesu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Grave can pounce on him.

Samvesu drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Grave gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Still in the clinch, Grave scores with a nice short uppercut.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Grave creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Grave fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Samvesu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Emunn Samvesu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grave moves into range and connects with a jab.

That's time! Grave's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Samvesu shoots in looking for a takedown. Grave tries to sprawl out of it but Samvesu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grave manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Grave buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Grave comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Samvesu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Grave is fending him off so far but Samvesu persists. Nope, Grave circles away and we're back to standing.

Samvesu has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Grave after a bit of a struggle.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Grave, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
