Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Mercado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mercado paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mercado shoots for a double leg takedown but Dux sprawls well. He's pushed Mercado's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mercado escapes and gets back to his feet.

Dux closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dux tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dux is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mercado is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mercado tries to improve position but can't.

Dux thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mercado is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dux is controlling him well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mercado scores with a takedown into Dux's guard.
Mercado slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dux escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mercado gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mercado wants to pass the guard but Dux is keeping the position.

It looks like Frank Dux has been cut.

Dux has momentary wrist control but Mercado slips an elbow through the middle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dux looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mercado keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dux's head.
Dux will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mercado wants to control from the top but Dux keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dux working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mercado doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mercado manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

and Mercado counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dux won't be happy with that.
