Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Greg Runyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sturd Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sturd Jr has chosen Maino feat. Jadakiss - What Happened as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sturd Jr connects with a right hand. Runyan shakes it off.
Sturd Jr tries to work over Runyan's front leg with a kick but Runyan checks it.
Sturd Jr getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Runyan tries to close the distance and clinch but Sturd Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

so Sturd Jr counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sturd Jr is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sturd Jr controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sturd Jr stands up over Runyan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Runyan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sturd Jr throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Runyan is looking to clinch but Sturd Jr is avoiding it.

Runyan looks to land a body kick but Sturd Jr moved away.
Runyan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sturd Jr finds it's way round the side to connect with Runyan's head.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sturd Jr, right into the meat.
Sturd Jr wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sturd Jr throws a lazy right hand but Runyan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sturd Jr is staying tight to Runyan's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Sturd Jr lands a few punches from side control.
Sturd Jr connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Runyan some visible discomfort.
Runyan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Sturd Jr looks up at the clock and then as Runyan takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sturd Jr smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Runyan takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Runyan is breathing heavily.
Sturd Jr advances to full mount.

Sturd Jr cracks Runyan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Sturd Jr drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Runyan's head, knocking him out cold! Sturd Jr is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
