Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kid Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wade Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe comes to the cage accompanied by (Ugly kid joe) Everything about you. Wilson has chosen Ave Maria as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kid Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wade Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Joe. That's going to slow Wilson down.

Wilson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Joe, pushing him back against the cage.
Wilson misses with a body punch.
Wilson lands a hook that snaps the head of Joe backwards.
Wilson tries for a takedown. No joy.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Joe.
Wilson blocking some punches.
Wilson lands with a light punch inside.
Joe swings wildly with an uppercut but Wilson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Joe digs a right hand underneath Wilson's ribcage. Wilson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Nice body punch from Wilson.

Wilson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Wilson postures up in Joe's guard and throws a big left but Joe blocks it.
Joe utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Joe is trying to keep Wilson in close.
Wilson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wilson is looking to work some ground and pound but Joe has wrist control.

Wilson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Wilson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joe keeps working.
Wilson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Joe's head.
Joe holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

An inside leg kick lands from Wilson.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Joe.
Wilson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Joe thows a left - swing and a miss!
Wilson staying out of range there.
Joe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Joe takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


It looks like Kid Joe has been cut.
A solid body kick from Wilson.
Wilson jabs Joe right on the nose. Joe blinks but takes it well.
Wilson lands with a thumping leg kick.

Joe connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Wilson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Joe.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Wilson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Wilson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Wilson is fighting to break Joe's control of his arms but Joe is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Joe pulls Wilson in to control the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wilson looks to score with a jab to the body but Joe is just out of range.
Wilson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Joe.
Wilson tries to clinch but Joe is having none of it.
Joe missing with a left hand there. Wilson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Joe connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wilson's hands.

Wilson blocks a low kick nicely.
Joe finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joe on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Wilson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Joe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've been told by Joe's head coaches at [CBK] ONI Grappling Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

A looping hook to the body misses from Wilson. Joe does a little dance to reset his feet.
Joe takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Wilson punishes Joe's body with a nice straight punch.
Joe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wade Wilson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Joe throws a shot from downtown. Wilson moves away and avoids it.

Wilson catches Joe napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Joe to the canvas!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wilson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wilson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Joe is trying to control Wilson's posture but Wilson avoids it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Joe throws a leg kick but Wilson moved away.
Wilson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Joe misses with a left hand

and Wilson counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wade Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Wilson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wilson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wilson wants to control but Joe is keeping him busy.

Wilson is working for a kimura but Joe is defending it quite comfortably.

Wilson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wilson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wilson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Joe takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The strikes coming from Wilson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Joe tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wilson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Joe wants to control but Wilson postures up.
Joe sneaks back into half guard.

Joe is trying to stand back up but Wilson is controlling him
Wilson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Jeez, Kid Joe's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kid Joe's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Wade Wilson!
