Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leandro Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock comes to the cage accompanied by Guns and Roses - Reckless Life. Alves has chosen Thin Lizzy - Angel of Death as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves walks forward, straight into a front kick from Brock.
Brock throws the kick towards the body but Alves avoids it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Alves.
Alves moves out of range as Brock strikes.
Brock swinging wildly here.
Alves throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Brock throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Alves getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Alves takes a swing at Brock's ribcage but misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alves changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Alves lands a nice shot to the body.
Brock throws a hook but Alves blocks it.
Alves is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Brock rather than just go for the knockout.

A jab from Alves finds it's way through Brock's defenses.
Alves's corner calls for a 1-2. Alves obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Brock has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alves.

Alves shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Alves working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brock regains full guard. Nicely done.

Alves is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brock is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brock has escaped and now he's on top!

Alves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Alves wants to control the position but Brock says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Alves is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.

Brock has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Alves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Brock looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Brock pushes Alves away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alves gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Brock gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Alves is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brock defends it well.
Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brock keeps working.

Alves throws a strike but Brock manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Alves tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
