Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith avoids the head kick by Ferdum.
Ferdum with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ferdum lands with a nice body kick.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Smith passes Ferdum's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ferdum manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Ferdum isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Smith stacks Ferdum on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Smith!

Ferdum looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ferdum wants to stand up but Smith has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Ferdum is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Smith tries to roll over but Ferdum keeps him under control.
Smith gets full guard.
Smith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smith tries to get out of the position.

Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Ferdum but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ferdum looks winded!
Ferdum keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ferdum tries to hold on but Smith postures up.
Smith controlling the position easily from mount.
Smith is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ferdum can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith lands with some strikes.

Smith drops a big elbow. That's hurt Ferdum! More shots from Smith and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
