PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Montana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Spezza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montana's entrance music is Push it to the Limit. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montana throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spezza.

enabling Montana to counter with a crisp jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Spezza checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Spezza has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

A close round but Jason Spezza will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Spezza lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Montana has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Montana and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Spezza is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Montana has escaped the position, nice work there.

Spezza thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Montana is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Spezza off and has taken his back!

Montana is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Spezza is defending well though. Montana let's go of the attempt for now.

Montana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spezza can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Montana takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Spezza will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Spezza cracks Montana on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Montana falls backwards against the cage. Spezza follows up with more strikes that drop Montana to his knees. Spezza keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Montana! This one is all over!

Jason Spezza really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Vandal Fight Boutique & Laundry logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
