Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donte Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Donte Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yuri Boyka!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boyka rushes Jimenez and presses him up against the cage.

Jimenez jumps guard and drags Boyka to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jimenez trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jimenez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jimenez is working hard here to advance position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boyka accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Boyka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Boyka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Boyka trying to control the position from guard on top but Jimenez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jimenez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Jimenez stops Boyka from standing up.
Jimenez with a nice head shot there.
Boyka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jimenez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Jimenez wants to stand and escape but instead Boyka has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jimenez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boyka defends well.
Boyka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jimenez is keeping the position for now.
Boyka stops Jimenez from standing up.
Jimenez is wriggling around but Boyka manages to pass to half guard.

Boyka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boyka wants to stand up but Jimenez is controlling the position.
Jimenez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boyka is taking a breather. Jimenez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jimenez wants to stand back up but Boyka manages to pass into side control.
Jimenez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boyka on the ground.
Jimenez is looking to reverse the position.

Boyka is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jimenez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jimenez is not content to let Boyka control the position.
Jimenez takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Jimenez struggling a bit here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jimenez is looking to regain half guard here but Boyka keeps moving and retains side control.
Boyka is looking to take a break and control but Jimenez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boyka tries to stand but Jimenez is controlling his head.
Boyka advances to full mount.
Jimenez is in all sorts of trouble here.

Boyka working for a guillotine from mount but Jimenez is in no mood to give up.
Jimenez is looking to improve his position but Boyka isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jimenez is squirming around, avoiding Boyka's attempts to control the action.
Jimenez trying desperately to get to his feet.
Boyka trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The referee warns Jimenez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jimenez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Boyka is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jimenez can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boyka manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jimenez to take his back!
Jimenez is breathing heavily.

Boyka is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jimenez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Jimenez is really stuck here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Boyka dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Boyka misses with a two punch combination.

Boyka clinches.
Boyka tries to stall but Jimenez uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jimenez.
Jimenez throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Boyka blocks it with crossed arms.

Jimenez breaks the clinch.

Boyka is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jimenez's half guard.
Jimenez is looking to improve his position.
Jimenez tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Boyka prevents Jimenez from standing back up.

Jimenez looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
It looks like Boyka is going to stand back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boyka working over Jimenez with some ground and pound. Jimenez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Jimenez is looking to escape.
Yuri Boyka has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jimenez is staying active underneath Boyka, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jimenez is concentrating on defense, preventing Boyka from advancing position.
Boyka passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jimenez!
Jimenez tries to improve his position but instead Boyka has taken his back!

Boyka has got one arm under Jimenez's chin. This could be trouble... Jimenez trying to control the other hand but Boyka gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Jimenez has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Yuri Boyka!
