Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Wyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ask Fairchild (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wyatt comes to the cage accompanied by ''Broken Out In Love''. Fairchild has chosen Jesse & Joy - Llorar as his entrance music. Ask Fairchild will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Wyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ask Fairchild!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyatt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fairchild dodges the punch combination from Wyatt.

Fairchild felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Fairchild tries to roll over but Wyatt keeps him under control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fairchild is not content to let Wyatt control the position.

Wyatt is looking to advance position but Fairchild won't allow it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fairchild swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wyatt tries to bum rush Fairchild with a series of wild strikes but Fairchild uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wyatt shoots in but Fairchild avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fairchild scores with a jab. Wyatt acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Fairchild takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Wyatt throws a series of punches but Fairchild avoids them all with ease.

and Fairchild counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wyatt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fairchild gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fairchild is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Wyatt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Fairchild has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fairchild wants to control from the top but Wyatt keeps moving.

Wyatt pulls Fairchild in close to his closed guard and prevents Fairchild from doing any damage or advancing position.

Wyatt lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fairchild is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Wyatt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fairchild has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wyatt has managed to get both his arms back between Fairchild's legs - danger averted.
Fairchild looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wyatt puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Fairchild tries to get to full guard but Wyatt has control of the leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fairchild holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Fairchild is looking to control Wyatt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fairchild avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Wyatt will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Wyatt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fairchild tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wyatt is in Fairchild's guard.
Fairchild pulls Wyatt in close to prevent any damage.
Wyatt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Fairchild is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Wyatt frees his head nicely. Oh but Fairchild has switched to an armbar! Wyatt is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Ask Fairchild!
