PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julius Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Kilju (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caesar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Et tu, Brute?. The key to victory for Julius Caesar has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caesar digs a good hook to Kilju's body.
Kilju shoots in looking for a takedown. Caesar tries to sprawl out of it but Kilju keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Caesar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Caesar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A decent looking cross lands there for Caesar.
Caesar is looking to land body kicks.
Caesar looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Caesar lands a right hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kilju tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Caesar swivels and escapes.
Caesar paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Kilju closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Caesar to the mat! Caesar manages to get full guard.

Caesar pulls Kilju in close to prevent any damage.
Caesar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

BOOM! Caesar connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Caesar avoids the attempt from Kilju to control.
Kilju sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Caesar is trying to control the action in half guard but Kilju is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Caesar uses his free foot to push down on Kilju's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kilju.

Kilju fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Caesar connects with a right hand. Kilju shakes it off.

Caesar lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kilju backwards.
Caesar trying to control the position but instead, Kilju has worked for underhooks and has pushed Caesar into the cage.

Kilju jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Caesar walks away with a smile on his face. Kilju gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kilju drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Caesar gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Julius Caesar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pablo Kilju.
Kilju is looking to take this one to the mat.
Kilju tries to pull guard but Caesar forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kilju goes for a takedown attempt but Caesar pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kilju instigates a clinch.
Kilju has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Caesar after a bit of a struggle.

Kilju turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kilju manages to end up in side control.

Caesar holds on to Kilju's head and controls the position momentarily.

Kilju goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Caesar rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kilju's guard! Nice work there by Caesar!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kilju keeping moving, preventing Caesar from controlling successfully.
Kilju wants to sweep here but Caesar controlling him for the moment.
Kilju can't keep his opponent in guard - Caesar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Caesar wants to control but Kilju is keeping him busy.
Caesar slows the pace down in half guard.
Julius Caesar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kilju tries to roll over but Caesar keeps him under control.
Caesar moves nicely into side control.
Kilju is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Caesar off and has taken his back!

Kilju is persistently looking for the submission but Caesar is defending it well.
Kilju is not going to allow Caesar to sit and survive in this position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Julius Caesar will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Caesar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kiljus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Caesar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kilju can do to turn this around?

Caesar pushes Kilju against the cage. Caesar is working some dirty boxing. Caesar pushes off with a quick right hook! Kilju goes down! Kilju tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Caesar moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
