The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carney closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Carney is working for a kimura but Mientki is defending it quite comfortably.
Mientki gets back to full guard.
Mientki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Carney avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mientki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carney can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mientki has his foot on Carney's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carney works his way back into a safe position though.
Carney wants to stand but Mientki has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Mientki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Mientki wants to sweep but no luck.
Mientki has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Carney doesn't defend quickly enough and Mientki has managed to lock this one up! Can Carney escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mientki on a fantastic submission victory.
