The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Browne takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Newstead jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Browne uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Newstead.
Newstead with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Jason Newstead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Newstead tries to close the distance and clinch but Browne swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Newstead lands a slapping body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Newstead misses with a low kick.
Browne checks the leg kick nicely there.
Decent striking displayed by Newstead there.
Browne missing with a left hand there. Newstead was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Browne feints and as Newstead raises his hands in defense, Browne changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Newstead wants to stand up but Browne is controlling him.

Let's hope that Browne has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Matthew Browne was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Browne looks to throw the jab but Newstead is out of range.
Newstead throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Jason Newstead is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A jab from Newstead does it's job there.
Browne pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Browne looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Browne takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Browne should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Newstead lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Browne out cold! Browne is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
