Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Millar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan Robles!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millar takes a shot right to the bread basket.
We've been hearing reports that Millar has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Millar looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Robles looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Robles lands a glancing blow to the side of Millar's head.

Millar instigates a clinch.
Millar throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Millar jumps guard but Robles stands there with Millar around his waist. Millar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Millar prevents a takedown attempt there.

Millar drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Millar wants to take the fight to the mat but Robles manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Millar.

Robles is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Robles decides to stand back up. Robles steps back and let's Millar get back to his feet.

Millar stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Robles.
Millar stuffs the takedown attempt from Robles. Robles gets slowly back to his feet.
Robles throws a head kick but Millar moves out of range.
Robles lands a nice shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Robles looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Millar wants to control the position but Robles says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Millar is fighting to break Robles's control of his arms but Robles is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Millar wants to pass the guard but Robles is keeping the position.
Robles lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Robles postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Robles gets to his feet - Millar follows without any prompting.
Millar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Robles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Robles shoots in for a takedown but Millar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Michael Millar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Robles.
Millar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Millar wants it to stay on the feet.
Robles dives in for a single leg takedown but Millar sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Robles stands up and beckons Millar to join him on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Robles decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Juan Robles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Millar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Millar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Robles avoids it really well and circles away.
Robles throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Millar.

Robles is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Millar's shoulder. That is not cool.
Robles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Millar keeps working.

Robles is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Millar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Robles controls the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Robles stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Robles gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Robles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Robles pushes Millar up against the cage in a clinch.
Millar is trying to pull guard but Robles turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Robles has hold of one of Millar's legs. Millar is fighting the takedown attempt but Robles gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Robles is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Millar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Robles doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Robles manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Robles drops back looking for a leg! Millar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Millar manages to kick Robles off! Robles jumps back into Millar's guard.
Millar has a closed guard, preventing Robles from standing up.
Robles in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Robles is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Millar has his foot on Robles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robles works his way back into a safe position though.

Millar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Robles changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Millar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Millar wants to get back to his feet but Robles drags him back down.
Robles happy to just control the position for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Michael Millar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Juan Robles is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Robles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
