PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Drummond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Allan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Josh Allan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drummond blocks a head kick by Allan.
Drummond lands a lovely overhand right.
Allan darts in looking for a takedown but Drummond gets double underhooks and turns Allan into the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Allan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Drummond really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Drummond is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Allan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Drummond is working an open guard so Allan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Allan clinches up with Drummond and pushes him back against the cage.

Allan throws a right hand that Drummond ducks under and follows up with a left that Drummond also avoids with ease.
Steve Drummond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Drummond loads up on a big right hand but Allan slips the punch.
Drummond bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Allan's head backwards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Allan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Allan wants to sweep but no luck.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Allan is on top in guard.

Allan is stalling in the full guard.
Drummond knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Allan on the ground.

Drummond will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Allan closes the distance and clinches.
Allan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Drummond fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Drummond lands with a straight right. Allan didn't see that one coming.

Drummond is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Drummond fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Allan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Allan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Allan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Drummond gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Allan has his foot on Drummond's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drummond works his way back into a safe position though.

Drummond feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Allans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
