Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Neville Champman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dominic Sankey!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sankey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Champman moves out of range as Sankey strikes.
Sankey avoids the head kick by Champman.
Sankey misses with a wild combination.
Champman throws a sloppy head kick and Sankey moves out of range easily.
Champman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sankey backs up against the cage.


It looks like Dominic Sankey has been cut.

Champman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Champman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sankey's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Champman controlling the action here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sankey on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Champman sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Sankey is trying to control but can't.
Champman wants to free his trapped foot but Sankey is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sankey wants to get back to his feet.
Sankey is not content to let Champman control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sankey fails with an attempt to clinch.

Champman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Champman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Champman stops Sankey from standing up.
Champman tries to free his leg and advance position but Sankey is retaining full guard.
Sankey looking to control.
Champman sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Sankey is striking from the bottom but Champman uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Sankey is trying to maintain the position but Champman is very close to passing his half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Champman throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sankey's head.
Sankey misses with a straight right.
An inside leg kick lands from Sankey.
Sankey throws a solid leg kick but Champman takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sankey.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Champman misses the shot to the body.
Sankey misses with a wild combination.
Champman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Champman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sankey cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sankey misses with the combination.

Champman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Champman is taking a breather. Sankey says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Champman postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sankey to stand up.

Champman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sankey is trying to escape the position but Champman is controlling the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Champman trying to control the action but Sankey is working from the bottom.
Sankey is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Champman has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Sankey takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Champman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Champman content to control rather than advance.
Champman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sankey keeps working.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sankey is looking to control Champman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sankey avoid being mounted?

Sankey pushes Champman off and gets back to his feet.
Champman misses with a low kick.

Sankey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sankey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Champman swivels and escapes.

Champman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sankey manages to avoid it.

Sankey wants to clinch.
Sankey tries to clinch up but Champman circles away and keeps his distance.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neville Champman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Champman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sankey lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Champman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sankey looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sankey lands a head kick. Champman smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Champman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sankey tries to avoid it but Champman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sankey to the ground. Sankey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Champman shoots for a double leg takedown but Sankey sprawls well. He's pushed Champman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sankey's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Sankey duly obliges.
Champman missing with a left hand there. Sankey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sankey wants to clinch.
Champman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sankey counters with a left and a right that stings Champman.

Nice sprawl there from Sankey as Champman shoots in.
Sankey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Champman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sankey.

Champman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sankey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Champman controls the pace.

That was a close second round but I would say that Neville Champman will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dominic Sankey's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Champman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sankey counters with a three punch combo that has Champman backing up. Champman nods at Sankey to acknowledge the strikes.
Sankey avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sankey throws a nice looking combination but Champman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Champman lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Sankey instigates a clinch.

Sankey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sankey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Champman as he jumps to the side.
Champman throws a series of strikes that have Sankey backpedaling.
Champman walks into a left hand.
A shot to the body from Sankey misses
and Champman counters with a head kick. That will keep Sankey thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Champman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Champman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sankey looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Champman is looking for a sweep. Sankey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Champman is trying is best to control the position here.

Sankey tries to stand but can't do so whilst Champman controls his leg.
Sankey is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Champman!

Champman is squirming around, avoiding Sankey's attempts to control the action.
Sankey might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Champman kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Champman tries to hold on but Sankey pushes him away.
Champman is trying to escape the mount.
Sankey wants to control the pace but Champman is squirming around nicely.
Dominic Sankey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Champman is looking to get to half guard.
A nice elbow there by Sankey.
Champman is trying desperately to improve position.
Champman tries to lock up and control but Sankey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sankey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Champman is looking to escape.
Champman manages to regain half guard. Good work.

I would just about give that final round to Dominic Sankey.
I think Champman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
