Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Herald Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bread Panterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by Smoke the Fire!!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Herald Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bread Panterson!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor closes the distance and clinches.
Panterson is working for takedown but Taylor is calmly controlling the position for now.
Taylor stops a takedown attempt from Panterson.
Panterson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Taylor after a bit of a struggle.
Herald Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bread Panterson.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Taylor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've been informed that Panterson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Taylor throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The crowd cheers as Taylor lands an impressive looking overhand right. Panterson doesn't seem phased though.

Taylor fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Panterson to the ground. Taylor is now in Panterson's guard.
Taylor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Panterson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Taylor tries to free his leg and advance position but Panterson is retaining full guard.

Taylor trying to move into half guard but instead Panterson has managed to sweep!
Taylor is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Taylor lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Herald Taylor wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Taylor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Panterson on his heels. He'll look to pass Panterson's guard now, I'm sure.

Taylor looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Taylor has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Taylor stands up and waves to Panterson to follow him.

Taylor fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Panterson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Taylor defends well and Panterson ends up having to push Taylor into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Taylor has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Panterson regains guard immediately.
Taylor loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Taylor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Taylor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Taylor with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Taylor connects with a knee to the head.
Panterson is looking for a takedown.

Taylor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bread Panterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Panterson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Taylor defends it nicely.
Panterson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Taylor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Panterson is trying to keep Taylor in close.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Taylor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Herald Taylor has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Panterson is pressed up against the cage. Taylor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Panterson down to the mat. Panterson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The strikes coming from Taylor are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Taylor has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Taylor throws a right and a left that both miss.
Taylor thumps Panterson with a low kick.

Panterson slips a jab and a cross from Taylor.

Panterson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Taylor but Taylor pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Panterson throws an elbow that misses. Taylor uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Panterson's guard. Nice move by Taylor!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Herald Taylor dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Panterson tries to sprawl but Taylor drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Taylor seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Panterson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Taylor is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

We're going to have a standup here because Herald Taylor wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Taylor comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Panterson tries for a takedown but Taylor manages to get underhooks.

No joy there for Taylor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Taylor closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Panterson's guard.
Panterson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Taylor controls the pace.
Taylor seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Panterson for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Herald Taylor wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Herald Taylor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Taylor lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Panterson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Taylor is able to avoid easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Panterson successfully pulls guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Taylor is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Herald Taylor showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Taylor has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
