Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikola Veljanovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Kota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kota has chosen Airplanes - B.o.B ft Hayley Williams as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Kota with that takedown attempt.

Veljanovski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kota's guard.

Veljanovski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kota has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Veljanovski has managed to get both his arms back between Kota's legs - danger averted.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kota can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kota is working for a kimura but Veljanovski is defending it quite comfortably.
Kota working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Veljanovski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kota can do to turn this around?

Veljanovski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kota wants to control but Veljanovski is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Kota has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Veljanovski escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Veljanovski!

Veljanovski creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Kota is looking to regain half guard here but Veljanovski keeps moving and retains side control.
Veljanovski lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kota down.

Veljanovski is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kota is trying to escape and Veljanovski transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kota is forced to tap! Nice work there by Veljanovski! Very nice indeed!
