Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Strom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simon Strom will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Strom!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Strom's head.
Strom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Strom working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Strom has wrist control.
Jones chips away with some ground and pound.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones is working Strom over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Strom looks a forlorn figure.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Strom can do anything to dispel that myth.
