Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Ciarlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Kanon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ciarlo tries to sprawl but Kanon drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kanon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ciarlo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kanon is working away from the top position though.
Kanon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ciarlo tries to kick Kanon off but Kanon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ciarlo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Kanon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ciarlo is trying to maintain the position but Kanon is very close to passing his half guard.
Ciarlo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ciarlo wants to get back to full guard but Kanon has passed into side control.
Ciarlo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kanon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ciarlo throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Kanon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ciarlo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ciarlo is letting Kanon control him for a moment.
Ciarlo tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kanon is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Ciarlo looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kanon gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Ciarlo is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kanon lets go of the hold and Ciarlo can pop his arm back in it's socket.
