Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marco Polo!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Polo slips a jab from Steel.
Steel wants to clinch up but Polo keeps it at a distance.
Steel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Marco Polo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Polo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Polo.

Polo is looking for a triangle but Steel pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Polo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Steel defends it easily.
Steel wants to get up but he can't break Polo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Steel wants to control from the top but Polo keeps moving.
Steel's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Steel drops back looking for a leg! Polo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Polo manages to kick Steel off! Steel jumps back into Polo's guard.

Polo has his foot on Steel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steel works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Polo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steel is aware though and is defending well.

Polo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Steel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Steel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Steel closes the distance and clinches.
Polo prevents a body shot from Steel.
Polo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Steel pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Polo misses with a punch to the body.
Steel lands a hook that snaps the head of Polo backwards.
Steel is pressed up against the cage. Polo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Steel down to the mat. Steel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Polo has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Steel slips a straight right by Polo.
Steel wants to clinch up but Polo keeps it at a distance.
Steel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Polo.

Steel clinches up with Polo and pushes him back against the cage.
Polo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Freddy Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Polo.
Steel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Polo backwards.

Steel is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Polo is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Steel is defending well.
Polo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Polo wants a takedown.
Steel working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Steel lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Steel is trying to push Polo away but Polo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Polo is trying to drag Steel to the mat but Steel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Steel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Polo throws a lazy uppercut

and Steel counters with a nice right hand that sends Polo toppling to the canvas! Polo scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Steel finish him?!
Polo dives in for a single leg takedown but Steel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Steel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Steel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddy Steel dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Freddy Steel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Polo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Steel pushes Polo up against the cage in a clinch.
Steel wants to break the clinch but can't.
Polo tries for a takedown. No joy.
Steel lands a knee to the head.
Freddy Steel has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Steel gets underhooks to prevent Polo's takedown attempt.

Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Polo misses the body punch
and Steel counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Freddy Steel!
Freddy Steel decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Marco Polo was interviewed post fight and said 'sorry to fans and my team .'.
