Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Cartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boyka comes to the cage accompanied by Bring It On. Cartman has chosen Sweet child o mine as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boyka throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cartman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Boyka is in Cartman's guard.

Boyka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cartman is trying to defend but Boyka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Boyka lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Yuri Boyka is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boyka just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
